Maturity Profile

Within each of the four major IT-CMF strategies, there are five levels that are used to assess an IT organisation's level of maturity and improve the processes by which it operates and the business value it generates by advancing to the next level.

The generic maturity levels are:

• Initial (or no processes)
• Basic
• Intermediate
• Advanced
• Optimizing

These generic maturity levels have been inspired from SEI's Capability Maturity Model for software development.
