NUI, Maynooth hosted the Innovation Value Institute’s first annual Summer Session Open Day on 3 July. The event, titled “Creating IT Enabled Business Value”, consisted of engaging presentations offering key insights and strategies from leading IT business value practitioners and academics.
The keynote topics centred around how to achieve sustainable economic value from IT and quantify and understand the true business value of strategic IT investments. Among the keynote speakers were Professor Peter Weill, Director, Centre for Information Systems Research (CISR), MIT Sloan School of Management and Gary Masada, CIO, Chevron. The event was attended by executives and senior IT managers from both the public sector and a broad range of Irish and multinational companies.
Professor John Hughes, President of NUI Maynooth, who opened the event said “We are very pleased to date with the positive feedback from both IVI Consortium members and other organisations who attended the event. The initial research outputs by IVI and the IT Capability Maturity Framework have been well received by both businesses and public sector organisations”
